Welcome to the Banister House Tenants’ and Residents’ Association (TRA).

We are an independent, resident-led association committed to representing the interests of everyone who lives at Banister House. Our purpose is to ensure that residents have a strong and respected voice in matters affecting our homes, our estate and our wider community.

Working alongside residents, our housing provider, local councillors, community organisations and other partners, we aim to encourage positive change, strengthen community spirit and help make Banister House a safe, welcoming and thriving place to live.

Our Mission

Our mission is to represent residents fairly, encourage community involvement and work constructively with all relevant organisations to improve the quality of life for everyone living at Banister House.

We believe that by working together we can help create a cleaner, safer and stronger community where every resident has the opportunity to be heard.

What We Do

The Banister House TRA works to:

• Represent the views and concerns of residents.

• Promote resident engagement and community participation.

• Hold regular meetings where residents can raise issues and discuss local priorities.

• Work with our housing provider and local partners to seek improvements across the estate.

• Signpost residents to support services, local organisations and community resources.

• Organise community events and activities that bring neighbours together.

• Encourage open communication between residents and organisations serving our community.

Our Priorities

• Estate maintenance and repairs.

• Building safety and security.

• Tackling anti-social behaviour.

• Environmental improvements and estate cleanliness.

• Community wellbeing and inclusion.

• Youth and family activities.

• Access to funding opportunities and local support services.

• Resident involvement in decisions affecting the estate.
